🎙️ Why Culturally Relevant Coaching Matters for Asian Women 🙋🏻‍♀️

I had the joy of being invited to the Magnolia Talks podcast by the Asian Women Coaching Collective (AWCC) to talk about something close to my heart: the unique challenges Asian women face and why culturally relevant coaching matters more than ever.

As Asian women, we face unique challenges shaped by our cultural upbringing and deeply ingrained narratives of success. Many of us were raised to follow a very specific script: get good grades, attend a prestigious university, land a stable job, and rise through the corporate ranks. We followed that script believing it would lead to success and fulfillment.

But when we finally reach the end of this script, we pause, look around, and realize: This isn’t what I truly want. We begin to ask: What do I really stand for? What does success mean to me?

✅ Why Asian women need to rewrite their script of success and redefine success on their own terms

✅ How our Asian values like humility and respect for authority are often misunderstood as weaknesses in Western workplaces

✅ The struggle with self-promotion especially when we've been taught to value the collective over standing out
